Grade 2
Welcome to St. Michael’s 2nd Grade, at our Coopersburg Campus. Our mission is to provide a loving, nurturing and safe environment for our children. In this environment, the children can develop and grow creatively, physically, emotionally, cognitively and spiritually.
The curriculum for second grade at St. Michael the Archangel follows the guidelines of the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and the Diocese of Allentown.
Religion
Priority topics for the Grade 2 Religion Curriculum are: Jesus our Savior and the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Students have opportunities to grow in understanding of God’s merciful love for each person as they prepare to celebrate the Lord’s forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Students also begin to explore the meaning of the Eucharist in preparation for their First Eucharist (in third grade). Children continue to learn traditional prayers and experience other forms of prayer. The lives of the saints provide students with role models for following Jesus faithfully.
